It was a busy weekend in Canada and Holland for athletes of all ages as the continental championships took place. Masters Championships were generally run on Friday and Saturday with the juniors through to elites on Sunday.
Kicking off Sunday’s event in Europe, the junior men took to one of the fastest courses so far this season. Despite the speed, the race was packed with challenging technical elements from twisty woodland trails to sandpits and flyovers. Thibau Nys gave Belgium a bronze medal in the junior race as a first year rider. The Dutch win was going to become somewhat of a theme for the weekend’s events, with their riders rising to the occasion in front of the huge home crowd.
