USA and Europe get in the swing of things

Before the main European event of the weekend, Vorselaar hosted an event won by Manon Baker. Continuing her great early season form the young Dutch rider took the win before she prepares to fly to the USA for the first World Cups of the season.

On Sunday in Belgium it was all eyes on Geraadsbergen as the UCI racing season kicked off in Euroupe. A race dominated by Eva Lechner, but a strong performance from Ellen Van Loy on her 38th birthday also stood out, as she put her trademark fast start to good use.

In the Junior event, Ryan Cortjens continued where he left off last season with more strong riding. 4th place, just off the podium and holding off a strong group that also included Thibau Nys.

The first round of the EKZ series also took place on Sunday and behind an impressive David van der Poel, Steve Chainel took 8th place to start his 2018/19 cross campaign. Also in Switzerland, with a more low key start, Loris Rouiller took the win to get his season under way.
