World cup is back

Week 3 of the cyclocross season saw the first World Cup event of the season. Held at the notoriously hard course in Iowa City, Jingle Cross never fails to disappoint. Friday night under the lights saw a 2nd
place for Manon Baker and 3rd place for Felipe Orts in the elite women and men’s race respectively. Lukas Winterberg, Tobin Ortenblad and Caleb Swartz also took strong top ten finishes.

The World Cup saw a massive win for Maghalie Rochette, her first ever World Cup win and in doing so she took the leaders jersey in the series. Clare Honsinger finished 3rd and Anna Kay and Manon Baker ended up 2nd and 3rd in the U23 results. Thibau Nys also won the UCI Junior support event.

Week 4 of the season was another World Cup weekend as the riders moved to Waterloo Wisconsin for the Trek Cup weekend. Felipe Orts once again finished in 3rd in the Friday night event, with Jolanda Neff, Clara Honsinger and Caroline Mani ending up in a 1, 2, 3 for Challenge Supported riders. Thibau Nys once again won the UCI Junior support event.

In the World Cup, Jolanda Neff finished 2nd with Evie Richards taking the bronze medal ahead of Clara Honsinger in 4th. Manon Baker took the U23 win with Anna Kay once again on the podium in 3rd.
Back in Europe, Alicia Frank won in the UCI C2 event in Derby, England, Geerte Hoeke won in Illnau in Switzerland and Joyce Vanderbeken took a bonze in Boulzicourt, France.
